ABOUT CANNES
A number of people have already cancelled their plans to go to the festival this year. Some fear for their safety; others have cancelled in protest.
We are urging all people going to the Cannes Festival to carefully consider the necessity of their trip. The Simon Wiesenthal Center has urged all jewish travelers to France to "exercise extreme caution when visiting that country."
Is Cannes so important to Jewish travelers that they would ignore this warning? For non-jewish travelers, do you want to go to a country that has prompted such a warning towards jews? And everyone must ask themselves whether they want to spend money in a country that tolerates such unspeakable acts.
